Tyla 3,179
I had a similar thing happen with a rabbit. We were lamping and the dog nailed the rabbit very fast it wasnt til it was retrieved that we realised it only had its front legs! It was in fairly good nick and was feeding 100yds out in the field when caught and the wounds were on their way to healing up. The land has rail lines running through it so i assume that was the cause but its truly amazing the way wild things can survive horrific injuries. Quote Link to post
blacta 0
possibly released again by some wildlife hospital....you would be amazed they do release wounded/abandoned squirrels, pigeon and crows e.t.c for us to shoot again! thats all i can think off but i would be surprised that they released it with two legs missing! fireman 10,934
Wouldn't the stumps not ever totaly heal as when the squirel climbs it would have to use at least one of those chopped limbs and i could see them staying open or being opened or made sore easily, hence one being nearly healed and one still sore. They could be old wounds if what i've said makes sence and even be from the nest if the parents nested in industrial buildings, air vents with fans type of thing or even the church tower with the bell swinging rig.A puzzle only the great Ace Ventura pet decetive could solve . bedrock 16
I have my doubts about the vet theory. If it was a vet that did this The wound would have been stitched and fully healed before they let the little yank go. I don’t think anyone will get to the bottom of this but its an interesting tread none the less.. Quote Link to post
