muckypup 0
I have been after a Navara for a good few weeks and now finally I picked one up a couple of days ago, its not perfect and has done a bit of work with the odd tiny ding but I'm made up with it, the only thing I'm not happy about os its a bit noisy starting when cold and after about a Minute it clears itself and Purrs along, any other Navara owners had this problem from cold start?. Cheers Tony Yup, mines the same, thought it was timing chain but talked to dealership, guy in service surprised to hear me mention timing chain, asked year 05 and said i should losen and remove fan belts (2 of them). Start it up in the morning and listen. Did this and no rattle... needless to say I need to get back to him. But not timing chain. Must be a pump....

muckypup 0
Just to let you know the outcome. 05 Navara with rattling on morning start up is due to the fan belts being worn. They go hard after a long period and cause the rattling. Replaced these and normal morning start up resumed. Also talked to Nissan garage, they said timing chain will last a lifetime provided normal servicing done and oil replaced at normal intervals, so happy driving.
