alan, if you know any farmers well enough near you, ask them if you can tie your dog to one of there rams with a rope. the ram will bat the dog all over the place. my old man has done it with a few of

You can never trust any dog 100% let alone 150% (?) and many of us walk them through stock. Sometimes it just happens after 1000's of times of walking through herds without the dog batting an eyelash - sometimes its a one off freak and sometimes it's stuck that way. Most dogs will chase the wrong thing in the right situation - some never do, but they still could. That's one of the factors of working a hunting dog.

my dogs are and have always been broken to sheep, however when out with another dog that proved to not be my dogs also joined in, they were punished instantly then individualy reintroduced to sheep and never even looked twice at them, just put the time and effort in and you will crack it

This is good advice, i'd go back to basics with the dog, get a lunge lead and take him in the field and see what he does on his own (no other dogs). Running dogs together often gets them worked up and the dogs try and compete with each other making anything game. I've seen it happen.

Electric collars are good as a last resort and they have saved many a dog from being destroyed for worrying sheep. Don't rush into using the electric collar, it's a young dog and with a little time and back to basics you'll probably be fine.
