Hi Lads

 

 

Me and Andy (Rossy08) know this guy who's blagged a massive farm permission very local to where we live. He somehow got it by actually getting caught shooting without permission, the land owner saw him and his mate shooting on his land and instead of bollocking them actually gave them full permission. Unreal

 

Since he's had this permission me and Rossy got chatting to him in the local bar. First he tells us he's had a go at snaring, fair enough we thought but then he goes on to say "Problem is it takes me two hours to check all the snares, so I haven't checked some for days".........Alarm bells are ringing with me and Mr Ross. Rossy tells him he shouldn't set snares he cant check on regular basis. All we got was a vacant look

 

Next he goes on to tell us about a rabbit he shot, "I put it on a fence to go and collect later" he says "When I walked away up the field I looked back and saw a fox nicking the rabbit, so I ran back shooting at the fox". At this point me and Rossy are f*****g horrified. Again we explained that is big NO NO. It didn't seem to register with this p***k.

 

Undettered by our concerns regarding his antics, he goes on to ask where he can buy a crossbow. I thought Rossy was going to explode.

 

 

It's obvious this guy is a complete w****r but my dilemma is this.

 

He also told me the land owner has a fox problem and want's someone with shotgun to sort them out, this I can do.

 

Do I kiss ass and get him to take me to this permission, then get permission from the land owner for myself and then muscle him out. Or do I just go and tell the land owner what a t**t he is, at the risk of the land owner thinking I'm just saying that to nick the permission.

 

 

What would you do lads?

Let him know that a shotty is not really adaquate for foxes as you will know unless at close range.

it is not against the law to use a shotgun and people should stop scaremongering, any FEO will tell you the same

dont worrie mate i gave him a good talking to about the laws re crosbow hunting.. rather a sharp tone of voice was used.

may be i should right it down and attach it to a xbow bolt and hunt him with it, may be then some of what me and carl have been telling him will sink in.

sounds like your jealous this fellow got some good permision. and you want it for yourself. what you should do is educate the lad. take up the offer and help him to control the foxes. on his terms. and think yourseves lucky. how do i know this wont happen? i wouldnt show you a blackies nest.

ya ok that did sound a bit off. fair point

we have been trying to help. but when you tell people the right way to do thing and they dont listen,and then go on to tell you some of the absolutily stupid f****n things theve been doing and laughing there heads of about it you tend to give up.

offerd to go shooting with them at first, but im sorry i wont be out shooting with people like that.after hearing some of the things they have been doing.

dont need the land as me and carl both have quite alot already. but it wont be long befor the land owner sees or hears what there upto. and that the job there ment to be doing isent getting dun either.

seam a waste of good shooting land thats all.

and a good chance some idiots are going to bring even more of a bad name to our sport.

this is what i would do! get the number of the land owner,contact him about his fox problem!get it signed the permission papers.

then if this retard continues to be an arse. then let the land owner know you don't feel safe while he has permission to control the vermin! and get him thrown off.the last thing we need is a retard destroying air gunners rep

I agree fully with Davy; the guy sounds like he just went and bought a gun and some snares with absolutely no knowledge of the laws relevant,so I would suggest you take up the offer of getting the permission, then try and educate him and if he continues to be tit then go to the landowner, explain the laws he is breaking and make it clear that the they (the landowner) is also liable. Then recommend that s/he should quietly revoke his permission for obvious reasons, and offer to take up the job of pest control yourself.
