any of you have the same prob my 10month old lurcher will not stop whining i know that they whine through boredom and the such but this is beyond as i write this he is cuddled up to the terrier going to sleep again but whining ????? its starting to p**s me off and to boot i have received a letter off the local council about noise from him (neighbours ah dont u just luv em)they are usually kenneled outside but they are inside at the moment due to me building them a new kennel around the side of the house, cant and wont use shock treatment tried water he stops for a while but then starts again tried this method for months though it would have stopped him by now but it aint? he is bull/greyhoundxlaguna whippet

Is it boredom or separation anxiety?

I assume its other needs are taken care of. (food/water/temperature)

I would probably try putting food hidden inside a hollowed out toy or bone. He should concentrate on getting the food out of the toy/bone rather than the anxiety.

Strange....as he obviously kennelled with company.

plenty of long walks and a belly full of food should help...raw bones ..ect ect ...make it to tired to whine.. ....plenty of excersise .does help.....if its in a kennel or a house all day and just an hours walk isnt enough for some dogs...not saying you only take it out for an hour..but a young dog needs to be out plenty,,,,

DONT LISTEN TO ALL THESE "DOG EXPERTS" ON HERE.

I asked for help and got the same dribble. :censored:

the more you walk a dog the more it wants walking. How long will a dog chew a bone? you wet your dog and it has to lay wet constantlie tried it all. dont give advice unless youv got first hand experience on the subject ! ! ! !

the man at council said my coursing bitches gave of the worse noise hed ever herd. i was nearlie going to sell a couple as i got a noise order against me.

let me tell you im not soft on my dogs! by time i got to my runs they stopped barking and hid in the kennel so never linked the punnishment with the crime.

cani calm collars from arther carter will stop them strait away. 100% mine dont even where them all the time now. i bought 3 £80 each and he done me a deal as i had 3.

guarentie itll be the best 80 quid youll spend!

good luck :victory:

The easiest way to avoid the help............is not ask the question. yes.gif

All that's been given is genuine help from genuine folk.. wink.gif

You dont like the advice???? Don't follow it..simple.thumbs.gif

Far better to come back and criticise those helping....hmm.gifno.gif

Your advice is based on your experience....

Everyone else's is based on their experience..

They will differ..thumbs.gif

That's the beauty of an internet forum where advice is asked for...lots of different experiences..

The art of benefiting from it, is to monitor the trend of the answers given and take an average of the response.

No need to criticise those prepared to offer help from their experience.

I'm out now, I've made my point, no need to ruin the guys thread with an argument.thumbs.gif
