inan 841
anyone that think all coursers give kickups should have seen the club me and innan run in one short slip even by accident and you get a mouthfull and dont run again that day even if you have travelled four or five hours to get there . but it was coursing at its best and a honest test of a running dog. Happy days eh Mate! Take care J. Edited June 11, 2010 by inan Quote Link to post
DUCKWING 302
JEEZ NOT THE OLD MARBRICK SAGA ................ NO AXE TO GRIND AXE TO GRIND WITH ANY ONE OVER THIS ........ AND NO - ONE WAS MORE PLEASED THAN ME WHEN MARK DID WELL ........... AS IVE ALWAYS SAID ....... " THERES BEEN ONE HELL OF A LOT OF HARES KILLED WITH DOGS BEFORE THE SALUKI CAME ON THE SCENE " HOWEVER DREAD AND OTHERS ........ IF YOU ARE BASEING YOUR ARGUEMENT ON THIS ONE INCIDENT YOU ARE BARKING DEFINATELY UP THE WRONG TREE GET UP THAT BOTTLE NECK ..... AND HAVE A LOOK OUTSIDE ........... YOU NEVER KNOW .......... YOU MIGHT LIKE THE VIEW DUCKWING 1 Quote Link to post
Guest joe ox
DUCKWING, you quite often refer to minshaw bred dogs saying they can only kill doubled up etc etc, mine are quite capable single believe me they would not be in my kennels if they were not! To the ongoing debate I add............. The axe I have to grind is with the single minded breed blind daywalkers like Jamie and the idiot who pulls his strings who think ALL hares are EASY on the lamp which is bullshit. Hares are very adaptable creatures and come the frosty months if getting exercised regular on decent land are no mugs day or night and anyone with half a brain knows that. Hares can be easy day and night at certain times of year if not given any respect FACT only an idiot doesnt realise this or someone who bases what they know with reading topics on here. So come on Jamie(puppet) Paul(string puller) or any other daydreamer excuse me daywalker 6 out 6 "easy" lamped hares given the respect of being up and into there stride for as much as you like. To any auntie reading this all hares will be shot and tracked within the law. Edited June 12, 2010 by joe ox Quote Link to post
boyo 1,398
innan those days were as good as it gets coursing wise. great runs with great likeminded mates with some great craic and all with the same outlook to watch and enjoy a good course regardless of the outcome . Quote Link to post

JOE , ALL I MENTION THE MINSHAWS DOUBLED UP FOR IS WHEN I SAW MINSHAW AND A FEW OTHERS RUN THIS IS THE ONLY WAY THEY WOULD RUN ........ AND THE ONLY REASON THE BIG BAGS WERE TAKEN AT THE TIME ............... ONE NIGHT I SAW MINSHAW RUN HIS DOG ALONG SIDE A BEDLINGTON X WHIPPET BITCH BELONGING TO A FRIEND NOW THIS BITCH HAD A GOOD REPUTATION AS A LARDER FILLER ON THE LAMP .......... THEY RAN THE DOGS DOUBLED UP AND THIS BITCH DID ALL THE WORK , YET BLUE CAUGHT EVERY HARE , MINSHAW WAS SHOUTING ABOUT BLUE BEING THE BEST BUT I SAW A DIFFERENT STORY .............. AFTER 8 HARES THE BEDDY X HAD ENOUGH AND WAS LEFT ON THE SLIP STILL WILLING IN MIND IF NOT BODY ....... BLUE NEVER EVEN CAME CLOSE TO CATCHING ANOTHER AND THIS WAS ON THE LAMP .......... HIS STYLE WAS TO HANG BACK AND PICK UP A TIRED HARE THAT CAME ACROSS HIM .......... A CLEVER DOG WHEN HE RAN ANOTHER FRIEND IN A MATCH SINGLE HANDED BLUE WASNT EVEN IN IT UNBEATABLE BLUE ???? MINSHAW WAS FULL OF UNBEATABLE BULLSHIT MOST OF THE TIME AND NEVER SAW THE FAULTS IN HIS DOGS ...JUST .... EVERYONE ELSES ,.... NO DOUBT YOUR DOGS CAN TAKE A DAYTIME HARE ............... BUT .......... THE FLAT LANDS ARE ANOTHER WORLD ... TAKING A SPECIALIST TO REGULARY DO THE BUSINESS THROUGHOUT THE SEASON FUNNILY ENOUGH .......... I SAW THE SEED STOCK OF MINSHAWS DOGS RUN ON OUR LOCAL LAND AND THE DOG WAS A BIT SPECIAL IN THE DAYTIME .............. NO ........ NOT AT COURSING WITH LAW ... BUT AT THE TRADIONAL WORK OF A LURCHER CATCHING HARES !!! .......... A BIG DIFFERENCE AND SOMETHING LADS WANT TO THINK OF BEFORE ARGUEING THE POINT ........... REMEMBER THIS FELLAS ................ ONCE GAME IS EDUCATED THEY TAKE SOME CATCHING ............. THATS THE REASON THE FEN HARES WERE ALWAYS HARDEST AFTER CHRISTMAS ............ AND RABBITS ETC ARE LAMPSHY AROUND THE SAME TIME ............ AND JOE YOU ARE CORRECT ....... A LOT OF COURSING MEN CAN BE POMPOUS IN REGARDS TO THEIR QUARRY AND THE WAYS ITS RAN .......... PERSONALLY I THINK ITS GOOD THAT THEY HOLD SUCH A HIGH REGARD FOR THEIR QUARRY , I WISH A FEW OTHER LURCHER AND TERRIER MEN WOULD DO THE SAME ....... AND RESPECT THEIR QUARRY WE MIGHT NOT HAVE HAD THE BAN IN THAT CASE .......... ALL THE BEST DUCKWING 1 Quote Link to post
whin 463
a bit of sense written there ,doubling up to catch hares is not what i call sport its getting a bigger bag thats all , or rid the farmer of them one dog one hare roe rabit is the only true test of any dogs mettle ,but big bags can be achieve hunting gang handed no prob done it Quote Link to post
Guest joe ox
DUCKWING, as you saw that dog run and I didnt I cannot comment apart from saying all lines are improved over the years usually for the better and as I have already said the ones I have had the pleasure to own and run also the ones Ive seen run could do it single. Not all daywalkers hold there quarry in such high regard the videos prove that without doubt, I also have no doubt they would allow there dogs to take the hares out of there seats if the dogs sighted them there! 1 Quote Link to post
mC HULL 12,693
If hares are so easy on the lamp lets see one of you daywalkers take my easy money by killing 6 out of 6 easy hares on the lamp Duckwing my "MINSHAW" dogs are more than capable single why dont you take the offer of some easy money on some easy lamped hares? oh so knowledgable one Poacherman if you have a problem with me sweetheart Iam more than willing to sort it out with you face to face if you like? i cant see no daywalkers taking you up on the bet that there dog can take 6/6 on the lamp or even the lads who's dog have killed 6/6 in the daytime would not bet on them doin 6/6 in the day to many factors come into play but a bet a few will bet there dog against your dog on hares on the lamp or in the day Quote Link to post

Iam quite happy with them and there capabillitys which does me. Quote Link to post

NOPE ..... THAT WAS FOR THE PRESEVE OF THE RICH ............ THE LANDOWNERS ETC IT ALWAYS MADE ME LAUGH WHEN I HEARD THAT STATEMENT FROM DRIVEN SHOOTING MEN THAT WOULDNT SHOOT A RABBIT UNLESS IT WAS SUMMER TIME ... STATING THAT IT WAS A WASTE OF SHOT ....... SNOBBERY OR WHAT ! A LOT OF THE LAWS IN THIS COUNTRY WERE TO KEEP THE WORKING CLASSES IN THEIR PLACE ....... HELL ..........EVEN THE GUN LAWS WERE BROUGHT IN TO TAKE AWAY THE GERMAN ETC WEAPONS BROUGHT BACK AFTER THE FIRST WORLD WAR ........ AS WHEN THE LADS RETURNED HOME AND COULDNT FIND WORK AND HAD FAMILYS STARVING THE RICH FEARED A REVOLUTION ........ FROM AN ARMED , TRAINED WELL MOTIVATED ARMY OF MEN SOMETHING THEY RARELY MENTION IN THE HISTORY BOOKS ! YEP JOE , NOT ALL COURSING OR LAMPING MEN HOLD THEIR QUARRY IN ESTEEM ................ TO SOME ITS ALWAYS BEEN THE NUMBERS OR MONEY ..... HELL ........ WHEN I WAS HUNTING FOR THE CASH , A HARE TAKEN IN THE SEAT WAS A BONUS ...... !!! BUT ..... WHATEVER IVE CAUGHT IVE ALWAYS TRIED TO TREAT IT WITH RESPECT ........ DUCKWING Quote Link to post
