Dry ferret food.

Eventually used all the rabbits in my freezer so I payed £11 for a sack of dried ferret food. The ferrets won't touch it even after soaking it overnight to make it soft. Anyone know how to get them eating it?

Get mine from Drum feeds in Edinburgh. Cheap as anywhere else.

 

keep at it with the dry feed cause once your ferrets are on it they love it.

Very handy to be able to feed dry and I have found it makes for a cleaner court as well.Nice firm shits and a lot less flies during the summertime.

dont soak it.i use chudleys myself 23 quid for a bag and they eat it no probs.i give mine fresh meat aswell,but there is always dty available for them.never had any probs with it.

£23 quid for a bag? what size i get a bag from the local animail feed store chudleys but there own name on label and it is 15kg for £15.50

Anyone going to coxydene, just make sure you get there before wullie as he clears the shelves. 3 or 4 bags at a time lol!!

not a waste of money to me.its a handy addition to my poleys feeding. not everyone can get out all the time. i have commitments other than ferreting. ok you dont use dry weve gathered that but it hardly a waste of money. or would you rather twe fed them on cat biscuits and dog food when no meat is available.

I have a jill that wont eat meat, she will only eat dry, never had a jill like her before, I think the old boy I got her from may have fed her off meat or something, so she has dry

Thanks for all the replies! I mixed it with some value gravy and they ate it grudgingly, the kits ate it aswell. As to getting free meat, where do you suggest? Cheers.

fed mine on cat dry food breederpack from animal feed store 15kg sack for 14.50.have done for years now and all ferrets have lived to a very good age with no problems

My ferrets are allways chasing cows when I take them out , serious I would stay away from beef , there's lots of other alternatives , it's not exactly a natural pray source stick with bird meet
