Ron Weasley 83
Try and avoid it mate, its not good for them. Get em on fresh meat. You can pick up road kill, speak to people you know that do a bit of shooting- go beating for a local shoot, all of these things get me food for mine when I'm low! Quote Link to post
Guest houndblair
My mate is a gamekeeper and beats but most of the time i will feed em the rabbits! Quote Link to post
Guest thelamperman
i would not give them road kill mate incase the rod kill has been pecked at by crows magpies that have been pecking at something that has been stricneend Quote Link to post

Yokel Matt 918
I started off with two albino hobs purely because they were easy to see if they tried to go AWOL . If you're only getting a couple and don't go out that often you can buy a special dried ferret food and suppliment this with fresh meat whenever you can. The 'season' depends on what the weather has been like. mid to late Autumn and Winter is best because, ideally, the rabbits should have stopped breeding, got to a worthwhile size and the ground softened. The last thing you want is for the ferret to find a nest, chow down the kits and decide to have a kip under rock hard ground. Try and give them something to play with... esepcially if they are in a small hutch. Edited November 15, 2006 by LocalYokel Quote Link to post
