 My patterdale pup seems to have the exact same problem, been to vets with her and was given some 'Malaseb - Antibacterial & Antifungal shampoo' as the vet thinks it may be a Fungal Infection? I have to bath her in it 3 times a week for the next two weeks. The stuff has to stay on her skin for ten minutes while she's in the bath. I'll let you know how it works out. If it does sort it I'll PM you and send you whats left of it.

Eczema maybe but not wet eczema, wet eczema is called that for a reason, as it will have a sticky puss like substance coming from it, that sets like glue in the fur, and it can spread with the puss, it can sometimes get quite serious if not treated. The spanial got it quite a lot and it cleared up fine on it's own but when my bully got it -

as you can see it spread around the back of her neck then on to her cheek and jowl. The neck healed up ok but the cheek scar'ed

Let a vet take a look, it might be some kind of skin mite? any of the other dogs from that litter having the same problem?

Simoman suggested wet eczema, one of my bulldog's get's this once a year and it's treat with a carbomer gel called Fuciderm, from the vet's and clears up in a couple of day's. Hope this help's .

I would recommend fucidrem for a wide range of skin complaints, always best to ask a vet first.
