Insight on lurchers

Have never owned a lurcher and don't really know anybody who owns one,but have wanted one for a while now.

 

Was looking for some advice on what crosses are the best and what breeds are good for certain types of hunting.

what do you want to take?

i need a small quick dog as a big first cross deerhound wouldnt do so good on my turbo charged short grass field fed rabbits.yet my whippet would struggle on deep heather or heavy cover.

what type of work will you be doing with the dog,lamping,ferreting just a general mooching partner,what is the land like you will be hunting,large open fields,small paddocks,these factors will all determine the best type to suit your needs
