Chid 6,519
i lamp a white dog ... only problem i find with him is the blood shows up like feck when im walking home if he as had a fox ... but other than that theres no problem with the colour Quote Link to post
Huwidge 69
out of interest if colour isnt an issue why do people wear cammo or dark clothes when out hunting. in certain conditions a white dog will stick out alot more then a darker one. i know for sure if theres not much wind about or mutli dirrectional winds that carry scent and quarry are more alert they will see the dog quicker and move off. obviously you have not got the lamp on the whole time and your not shinning in every rabbits eyes so i think it does make a difference and if it doesnt then we might as well scrap the hunting clothing and so on. that doesnt affect the dogs performance though does it pal. KAKA 10
Personally i think colour of the dog does not matter if the dogs does the job the colour makes no differece to the work. Who agrees. Who disagrees. Lets see some white lurchers. your right fella you think a bunnie looks back to see what colour up it backend,a would agree with you on colour does not matter Quote Link to post
woodga 170
At the end of the day a good dog will allways "out perform an average dog " regardless of the colour !! THEN AGAIN I SUPPOSE WHITE DOGS WOULD BE GOOD FOR HUNTING IN THE SNOW LOL colour should not be a reason for slating a dog it should be its working ability that counts Quote Link to post

blade 5
COLOUR DOES NOT MATTER A GOOD DOG DOES NOT KNOW WHAT COLOUR HE IS ,A WHITE DOG HAS AN ADVANTAGE AT NIGHT HE CAN HIDE AMONGST THE SHEEP AND STALK HIS QUARRY. Quote Link to post

poacher3161 1,766
The only advice about a white dog though is make sure you wash any claret off its face as it does tend to stand out more Quote Link to post
