out of interest if colour isnt an issue why do people wear cammo or dark clothes when out hunting. in certain conditions a white dog will stick out alot more then a darker one. i know for sure if theres not much wind about or mutli dirrectional winds that carry scent and quarry are more alert they will see the dog quicker and move off. obviously you have not got the lamp on the whole time and your not shinning in every rabbits eyes so i think it does make a difference and if it doesnt then we might as well scrap the hunting clothing and so on.

that doesnt affect the dogs performance though does it pal.

Personally i think colour of the dog does not matter if the dogs does the job the colour makes no differece to the work.

Who agrees.

Who disagrees.

At the end of the day a good dog will allways "out perform an average dog " regardless of the colour !! THEN AGAIN I SUPPOSE WHITE DOGS WOULD BE GOOD FOR HUNTING IN THE SNOW LOL colour should not be a reason for slating a dog it should be its working ability that counts

doesnt effect working ability, but recon it could make the difference to weather 10 rabbits stay squating in a field to 30. plus same as you always should stick to the hedges when lamping and shine in to the field rather then siloeting in the middle all these things do make a difference and are basics to lamping. which i would of thought alot of lads on here would know. plus people forget rabbits that arnt lamp shy dont link the lamp to human or dog presence so the lamp has little impact but the sure as feck no what a dog is or people. hence why you would want to be concealed the best you can. especially as a rabbits eye sight is at least 4 times better then our and have relativley good vision in the dark. and the way a rabbits eyes work is the can filter white coulur easyer then any other coulour as thats the spectrum they see at night. black, grey and white and obiously white stands out in an all black to grey surroundings. most animals that are out at night do the same. noctural animals work by the same methods all other colours on the scale blend quite well together which help to stay concealed but white glows up very very well to them. due to the filtering process
