Is their a big variation in the type of coat on salukis depending on the region they originate from and is it possible to recognize wich region a saluki comes from by the type of coat.atb dell

i understand what you are saying , its a bit more complicated than that ... but along with other features you can make a good guess, long coat ,,moderate hot summers , very cold winters +25 deg c to -20 odd deg c just an example short coat hot all year +40 deg c

taff they got plenty of bone on them , they have been breed for thousands of years to hunt both rocky desert and mountain terrrain

Cheers its just that my father was stationed in akbar with the royal vetinary core and he used to tell me about these greyhoundy type dogs that some of the arabs kept the one in an old photo he has is more like a sloughi.atb dell

what you got to remember poach is its not just us lot that mix breeds , they have been crossing azawakh ,sloughi saluki,galgo for hundreds of years and greys , so whay im saying is like today your old dad could quite of easaly seen a cross breed
