poacher3161 1,766
It might be otitis is their a different smell to the dog?Recomended ear drops will clear it up if its not gone to far.If the problems only in one ear like hanna said it could be a forighn object. clint 45
Many year ago when we use mastiff dog for pig hunt, dog get cerial in ear , which go waxy & dog shake head side to side, scratch & ear go bad. we Mix in cup, 20mm malt vinegar in cup, fill up half cup of WARM water from boil kettle, level spoon bicaronat soda (bakin powder)& stir with spoon. Now will foam up. suck into sringe, sringe dog ear & do this 3 time , every day for 3-5 day. If ear swell use ibubrofen tablet 1 tablet, 2 time day.All good after, clean & no infect. skycat 6,174
Not a good idea to give ibuprofen to dogs: can cause serious liver damage.
paddybarr 77
Not a good idea to give ibuprofen to dogs: can cause serious liver damage. it can in humans too, but dont stop many from taking it, you have to overdose a dog for a long term to cause significant damage. something the size of a mastiff would be hard to overdose, wouldnt advise using on a terrier unless you were sure of the correct dosage
