stillair1 16
As above well have pulled out a few that have torpedoed down the hole. However my mate got a surprise one night when he pulled out a clean and fit rabbit. T'was touch and go as to who was winning for a min as big bucks have quite a kick. Quote Link to post
Fishslayer 10
Rhythmic activity, heart beating, breathing, locomotion, are controlled by groups of pacemaker cells/neurons in various anatomical locations. Hearts continue to beat even when removed from the body. It's these intrinsic pacemakers which make heart transplants possible. Locomotory pacemakers are in the spinal cord. Even after the "thinking bits" have been removed, a head-less animal is still capable of fairly complex locomotory behavoirs. The heart and lungs can keep the body functioning for a while. Still freaks me out even though I understand it. Cheers, Mark Quote Link to post
