theinvisiblescarecrow 0
RWS SuperMag, are they the ultimate Ratting pellet. Heavier than most paper punchers, well made & if accurate through your rifle should do the job nicely. They also deform to give a wider wound chanel, better than some so called hollow point expanding pellets. That has got to be a bonus for 177 users. http://www.youtube.com/user/gunvidder#p/u/3/nEkpXebYUHw CHRONY TEST, compareing with the Hobby & Geco. http://www.youtube.com/user/gunvidder#p/u/12/cdcrlie9a-Y PENETRATION TEST, first of 18. http://www.youtube.com/user/gunvidder#p/u/40/5HI9LW9IgT0 Quote Link to post
stealthy1 3,964
Have you tested these pellets your self, does'nt say what make of gun he's using? The pellets may not suit other guns as good as his Quote Link to post

Phantom 631
Have you tested these pellets your self, does'nt say what make of gun he's using? The pellets may not suit other guns as good as his I've just viewed this video and bearing in mind that I'm using an lcd laptop (so definition aint too brilliant) It looks like he's fired one into some sort of ballistic putty, and the other has not been fired. The expansion (dome shape on the head and the skirt deformation) to me looks like its caused by the blast of air from the chamber Nominal Sub12's do not deliver the velocity needed to cause a massive expansion when penatrating flesh and nominal density bone, its a myth! If you want to see what expansion in real life hunting situations is like, then simply recover a pellet from a brain of a bunny shot with your rifle at 30 yards, then compare it to the same pellet fired into say plumbers putty, then compare it with a pellet fired at a 4mm thick Iron or Steel Plate at the same yardage. You will see that the metal plate being solid causes the pellet to spread, the putty, absorbs a lot of the impact, so it is slightly deformed, the one fired into the brain of the bunny (apart from the blown skirt caused by the air blast to seal it into the rifling) has virtually no deformation. Our usable velocities (at sub 12ft/lbs), just can not cause massive impact deformation on our quarry Phantom Edited June 4, 2010 by Phantom Quote Link to post
zini 1,939
Rats are shot at around 10 yards normally Invisible arnt they? It doesnt matter which pellet you hit a rat with as long as its in the head and the rat will die. If you use a flat head or a pointed pellet at them rages the pellet will go straight through the rat. My R10 in .22 goes through rabbits heads at 30 metres so a flat head will go straight through a rat at 10 yards. Si Quote Link to post
theinvisiblescarecrow 0
Good coments, thanks. The pellets were fired at different "materials" at different ranges to show what happens to the pellet. Each shooter has a different opinion as to what is best, accuracy is king, whackdown power, expansion etc. The idea for me was to show what these pellets deform like, or don't. Allso more perhaps for those that havn't a clue, newbie to shooting etc. Any comment is most welcome even if it rubbishes what is said or shown. It's all more info & everyone can benifit from that. In the not to distant future you can compare results to so called expanding pellets plus domes plus non lead pellets. As I said, all little bits of info, relivent to some, useless to others.
