Dogs from the weekend . . . .

Recommended Posts

The second one down made me laugh: the look on that dog's face: "Oh my God what am I jumping into!!!" Hilarious.

:clapper: :clapper:

That Staff is a friends dog and over the last 2 years or so has fallen in love with this crazy sport! He does very well at it too . . .. but yes the look of utter shock on his face is priceless! :clapper:

Does this "Dash n Splash" move around the country?

It pretty much stays at the Hop Farm in Kent, although the American version "Dock Dogs" tends to do a few of the bigger shows all over the country. Its an insane sport . . . but the dogs love it, i literally can not let my dog see the pool if i'm not jumping her, as she howls, bucks and screams until i let her off! :clapper:

Nice to see some different breeds getting involved now, the gun dog breeds obviously excel the champ being a lab x Pointer . . . . his best jump being 27ft . . . . my Dalmation X is the next best in the country with a best jump of 26ft. Awesome to watch dogs achieving that distance so effortlessly.

Over the pond the sport is huge, the Americans have events every weekend and even run their own Dock Dogs TV channel :clapper: . . . I do it because my dog loves it, but its good fun in the summer and keeps them fit and busy.

Super shots Hannah :clapper: My friend's dog would love doing this!

Its bloody hard to photograph . . . trying to get a fast enough shutter and a big enough appeture to get the face sharp, plus the light reflection from the water and an over cast day, then working out where the dogs will jump . . . . . . jesus! :clapper:

The collies love it too . . . a lot of the agility set get involved. :victory:
