not trying to ruin the thread at all but how many people have had good dogs that they knew nothing about ie random sale, dogs home etc???? best bitch i ever seen run was a rescued dog and im not just saying it but i bet most on here would of kenneled her and if only we knew then what we no know we would have pups out of her without a shadow of doubt. the thing is with lines is they have to start somewhere no one can argue with that so when you think about it it takes a good dog to create the line in the first place and if the pups never exceed the orginal pair of dogs then the line has failed in my opinion the best dogs are the ones no one knows about :thumbs:

How did the pups turn out from the union in your avatar mate?

the bitch never took mate its a shame as im sure they would of been a good line of deerhounds

well have you considered why i might of hit a brick wall i ask a question to do some research into lines and dogs that are now passed that have created these lines and i get some prickish answers. at the time being very very new to the game i wasnt expecting much at all and didnt know what to expect. if i caught one i would of been happy but now im progressing in the sport when the times right i want to get the right dog for my job once these dogs have passed. it would of been pointless spending alot of money on a dog from a good lines as an owner i wouldnt of done the dog justice but i feel with my knowledge now and with the right breeding i'l have a better dog not a world beater but be better.

:clapper: :clapper: like i said tho mate all lines have to start somewhere good luck with the pups

riohog he asked what the best dog in the country was :icon_eek: impossible to even start thinking of an answer mate surely you no that

jamie not being funny with you mate i agree with trying to get lines of good dogs thats obvious to every dogman BUT if a line is only known and worked between 5-10 lads and are getting good results then thats plenty good enough. putting a name to a litter of pups dont mean shit to me if im honest ive never seen merlin or eve run a hare but im told there good dogs never seen a dog run with golly, pie, minshaw etc only seen a few run out of hancocks line but im still told there all good dogs which they probably all are but i would rather have a pup out my own bitch or dogs off the local lads as ive seen the time and effort they put into there dogs theres no doubt in my mind about the dogs as ive seen them run countless times!!! i aint got a clue how my bedo cross is truly bred but i no she was a good bitch in her day all im saying is names mean f**k all mate all you should worry about is working your own dogs and breed off them when you no they are the right dogs to breed off
