Rifle clubs around M25

Recommended Posts

I have been living in the North London area for a few years now and have a gun licence which is registered in N. Ireland. I want to transfer my guns from N.Ireland to my new address.I spoke with the local police and have been told I need to join a rifle club and have permission to shoot on someone's land. Can anyone suggest a rifle club around the north part of the M25 which is not too upper class. I'm willing to travel further but within reason. I'm going to work on the land issue early next week just by driving around the local country side asking farmers for permission to control the pigeons on their land. This is the way we do it at home so I guess that would be the norm here as well?

All advice welcome thanks

Surrey rifle clubs clicky

I used to shoot at Surbiton Postal. Not snobby at all, and some very good, helpful shooters there.

Approved for .22lr and all non-mag pistol calibres.

I never found them snobby at all!

Just a question, the FEO says you need to join a club AND have land? Normally it's one or the other, unless you're having one or more weapons purely for target work?

The lady I spoke to today said that I would need land to shoot my shot gun on. She also said I would need to join a rifle club to use my rifle? I'm not sure myself about this as at home it's like you said you either have the correct land with permission to use your rifles/ shot guns or join a club!

I have a .22 R/F along with .222 C/F and an old 12g shot gun.

The club you used to shoot at Surbiton Postal was it expensive to become a member.

If it's a sec.2 shotgun (ie; not more than 3 shot) then there is no requirement to have land. There isn't even any requirement to have any intention to use it.

Ok thats good as it's only a two shot 12bore semi auto. So for the .22 and the .222 do I need to be a member of a club or if I can locate some suitable land to use them on will that keep the police happy?
