Shaunm41 14
Thanks for al the help guys, I have had a rifle befire (weihrauch 77 or something i think) but it was about 10 years ago and this is my first rifle since then. Im not too bad with the target shooting, can hit a can with every shot at about 20 yards (cant go further without going to a field as my garden is not that big. Printed some paper targets of crows and rabbits so am gonna have a shot at them and see how I get on and make sure im totally confident that I can get the pellet in the right place before I go for anything live. Phantom 631
Hi Shaunm41 I have a SMK XS19 and it does the job very well. Bunnies die when hit in the head with a pellet from the SMK's just as well as they do when I use my AA S200 The XS models are superior in finish to the earlier versions of same gun. Come to think of it, all the Chinese made guns now are far superior to the early models. Don't listen to the dealer 60 yards is asking a bit too much; but kills at nominal airgun ranges up to 35 yards are perfectly feasable if you take your time and as you have already stated; your going to put in the paper work first Phantom 1 Quote Link to post

pest hunter 151 15
Not been funny mate but wouldn't it have been a good idea to find out about a rifle befor you buy it instead of buying it then asking if its any good. Just a thought Paddy . Bang on Paddy... Always makes sense to do your Homework before parting with your hard earned reddies........ A secondhand Meteor or Lightning would probably been a better investment....... Jasper Fair do's, fella's. Sounds like the bloke's bought it on the spot, got told a load of sh1te by the tosser who's sold it to him, then at least had the good sense to think about it then ask for advice..... If it's working as it should and you can put your shots where it matters, the bunnies won't give a toss if it's got SMK or Daystate stamped on it. Practice and good luck with it, fella. Cheers. So true mate Quote Link to post
Edgar 1
The only way to find out what your rifle can do is to try with different pellets at different ranges and see what groups you can get. Am not to hopefull considering how cheap the gun was but see if you can prove me wrong. Don't understand the ranges comment zini. For instance the rats on my permissions are so wary getting within 10 yards is very difficult. Anyway if you can hit a vital organ it takes very little energy to bring down a rat or any air rifle quarry. Quote Link to post
