StevieBambs 0
Hi. Am looking for an all round 4x4, something can get across fields in & put dog in the back. Saw a Nissan X Trail on local supermarket car park, seems to have good ground clearance & sounds like reasonable fuel consumption ? Anybody had any experience of them ? Cheers Steve

Cheers Steve yeah mate, just got rid of one, unless u have deep pockets STAY well clear. £1800 for a new fuel pump for starters, £170 for colant sensor..........good if u can afford, only nissan can sort certain problems. beware

dytkos 17,800
Had mine for over 3 years (it's 5 years old now). Don't really use it proper "off road" that much, just towing quad trailer and the like. Drives very well on the road and not bad off, it's OK, but for proper off road ability I much prefer my Jimny but if you need a bigger vehicle with decent "off road" capabilities, I'd go for a Disco, make sure you get one of the newer ones though 'cos the earlier ones were crap.<BR>Cheers, D. brunty29cdo 5
i worked in nissan dealership.nissan is owned by renault now and renault are certainly not known for their reliability, however they did win best 4x4 a few years back, they drive nice,6 speed box on the 2.2 diesel(the only one worth considering!) so good on long journeys and they handle well(for a 4x4).there ok off road, but do not have a low ratio but does have electronics which helps traction.hope that helps
samearl14 11
Actually the engines in the x trails are nissan engines, not renaults
