anthc123 0
Wow they are nasty, thanks for the replys that's give me a bit more confidence I didn't take a picture but I will tonight whn I get in from work, my gf's mam is looking after him, I'm going to get him insured though deffo. The lad who I go out with is very experienced with all this and has stitch kits and everything it happened to his whippet but you could see his intestines and everything and his lab. I will not go out without someone more experienced now. I have a lot to learn. He has sone sort of drain in at the min that has to be taken out. Quote Link to post

turbotyke 62
mine run in to razor wire on sunday after a rabbit it made a rait mess of him but you just have to keep calm and deal with it 9 times out of 10 they look a lot worse than what they are iv just got to get him right now for the season i can remember getting a phone call one night for a lift to the vets a lurcher had run into a wooden post and the vet had to take a lot of its skull away we stood and watched him do it now that was grusom but the dog was fine we took him back home that night so it just goes to show they are as though as old boots atvb jenna Quote Link to post

By the way he's a whippet Had a couple of nasty accidents when i had lurchers,a bitch was out running hares in some long rough grass one night when she impaled hersel on a reinforced concrete rod left by builders sticking out of the ground, went in her chest just missing her heart, had to pull her off and carry her home a mile away, took her to vets, after treatment she recovered well enough to run again.Another lurcher of mine jumped a six foot spiked railing from too far away while chasing his rabbit,as he was coming down on other side spike went inside his leg and he was hanging upside down till i pulled him off,he would still try to run for anything while i was taking him home, both were okay after treatment.Whippets have fine skin and probably more prone to rips and tears, but as others have said on here they are tough and should recover well, hope yours heals well, Higgins. anthc123 0
Thanks for the comments everyone he's on the mend now manages to get some pics today but I'm using my iPod can I upload them still? It looks worse now I think with the drain in and the stitches make the wound look bigger, are all the pics of whippets or just lurchers etc? Quote Link to post
