rowey 1
I had a bad experience with a batch of remmy 17HMR ammo last week which finally left a round stuck in the barrel of the CZ. I had suspected a bad batch but this last episode shocked me. If it had gone an inch further up the spout I could have chambered a round behind it. Remington USA have issued a recall notice on their semi auto rifle and said they will refund full boxes of ammo. Its on their website if you want to look. Has anyone else had any bother ie bad grouping/slow burn etc. And does anyone know contact details of the UK distributor cos I sure as Sh!t ain't happy. Quote Link to post

Are you saying bullet head came away from the casing and got stuck, which i assume missed fired and when you edjected the round the bullet head was left in the barrel or did the casing get stuck in the chamber ? My guess is that the round had none or little powder in the cartridge but just enough energy for the bullet to enter the barrel. All I heard was a click. There was no bang. Quote Link to post
trooperman 73
Remington do say that on there site they also say if you read the lot they offer that deal only in the US i had some bad Rem .17 HMR's Edgas did not want to know so took back to shop were i bought them they changed for other make so try the dealer you bought them from first. also Rem are saying that if you have had the ammo a while and theres a possibility it has got damp that will also cause the low fire power pin hits rim powder ignigtes weak burn head leaves the case gets caught in rifleing. paul Quote Link to post
matt_hooks 188
Under UK consumer law, your contract is with the person that you bought the ammunition off, not the manufacturer. Therefore you should ALWAYS go to the dealer first, and they should deal with the issues. If they try to fob you off by telling you to contact the manufacturer, don't have any of it. I've not heard of .22's doing this, and certainly never experienced it. If they can make .22 reliably, why can they not make .17? Strange! Quote Link to post
