Black Dog Enthusiast 0
Opinions on the above. Can work with the right line, can also prove to be a disaster. Quote Link to post
Black Dog Enthusiast 0
For a place with so many so called experts theres not one reply to this thread. Hard to believe. Quote Link to post
tinytiger 859
Id use the bull on a russell type rather than a fell/lakeland/patterdale.some of the best working terriers ive seen were bull/russels of various descriptions.I think the fell types are hard enough as it is. Quote Link to post

Will agree with you in that there are some good russells with bull blood in them. Gives them that wee bit of 'go' that they need. Quote Link to post
uru 341
the dog in my avatar is 3/4 Nuttall,1/4 Pitbull and as solid as they come.He has an excellent nose, and is 8-9 yrs old in the avatar. He is about 16-17lbs.I think you can get some good ones.Especially if the pit has some good hunting qualities and not just tough. uru Quote Link to post

spiderpig 39
i think anything can work in moderation and different lines and also owners.i know of some nice stuff at present thats hoping to break the mould,,,,in my experience only if infused with too much they can often struggle with there nose and also agility wise when too ground,,,,ore often mute as well,so depends what your after and why really,,,i dont agree with the piut them too russels quote myself as there is some very good and hard lines of russels out there but then question why would you feel the need too add bull??? more often than not you will find its too add something that the breeder thinks is lacking so really he shouyld maybe get a better line in the first instance,,,if you had a decent terrier chances are you would want to re produce it so stick to something similar bred,,,there again i might not know fuk all either Quote Link to post

It would only need done every so often. I personally don't own any white dogs and don't intend too but there is some very tidy lines of white dogs with a bit of bull in them. Note i say 'bit of bull' as thats all thats needed. Don't see the point in these doggs that are the closest thing to a bull they can get, defeats the purpose imo. But maybe i know f**k all either spiderpig Uru, nice looking type that. Quote Link to post
Guest dee mac
i think in times gone by men added the touch of bull blood to put a bit of subtance ie size into there terriers was nothing too do with boosting working ability .if your looking to use bull blood to boost working ability then its your terrier thats lacking and all the bull blood in the world wont help it . higgins 75
Bull blood should only be used in a breeding programme to improve a line in respect to produce stronger heads then go back to the original line,as i see it they were used to improve weakness of sorts, not to add aggression, they shbould be used minimally, Higgins.
