zini 1,939
Hi lads I just thought id tell you about how decent and well priced Adie is, and what im getting done at A and M Custom Gunsmiths in the Midlands in early July. After me thinking about paying for the work on my R10 to be done by Mr Bowkett and paying for the extra postage I decided to speak to Adie at A and M Custom Gunsmiths as he only lives 15 minutes from where my step mum lives and I’ve visited him before and bought a Custom Storm off him. His work and knowledge is excellent and his work shop is second to none . This is what I am having done: Barrel shortened to 10 inches long Shroud shortened to fit new barrel Barrel re threaded to ½ inch UNF His own designed mark 2 home made silencer fitted, which he tells me is better than the new BSA VC silencer. A dust cover plug made especially to fit my R10 when its not being filled A full service and all the seals getting changed This will make my already super rifle, smaller, quieter and better to shoot due to improved dimensions and handling . All for bang on £100 . What’s also good is that Adie as told me the rifle will be finished in 2 days so I can pick it up and be using it while im in the UK on my course . I think Adie deserves a round of applause and is definitely a 5 star bloke. Si Edited June 1, 2010 by zini Quote Link to post
Marksman 934
Good news that mate. Let's hope it performs as well as you hope...... Not that I have any doubts Darryl Quote Link to post
stealthy1 3,964
The lad sounds like a good gunsmith, he's getting plenty of praise Quote Link to post
gurtwurz 792
sounds good si,so youre keeping the shroud then mate? much prefer mine without one, although originally that was cos i wanted the r10ch shorter and couldnt see the point of putting it back on when i'd be using a silencer anyhow, but now i quite like the look of it as well. it seemed a bit daft that the shroud did sod all for the muzzle crack, like it was purely cosmetic? admittedly i never even thought about shortening the shroud to suit the new barrel... all the best, wurz Quote Link to post
zini 1,939
Cheers lads Yes I know that he will do a good job Darryl as he worked on my cousins Ripley rifle, and it turned out an amazing rifle. I’ve also seen Theoben Rapids that he as put his magic to and they were awesome. He makes all custom parts in his work shop and will even build you a rifle to your own spec from scratch if you want him to. Yes Wurz I like the look of the shroud mate so I wanted to keep it. He is designing the new mark 2 silencer to fit over the barrel shroud so it looks the dogs nads. I originally asked him to fit a BSA VC silencer to the shortened barrel as they are suppose to be slightly better than the Weihrauch silencer, but he promised me that his silencer and new mark 2 design is even quieter than the BSA VC I cant wait to try her out with her new custom body and service. Watch out vermin Shame that i will have to wait to the 4th DVD to use her on camera But Im sure if i go anywhere towards the end of July and meet some of you regs, I could bring her along for you to have a play with Forgot to say Adie is also going to smooth the quick fill port so it doesn’t strip the rubber seals on the fill probe, all in the price Si Edited June 1, 2010 by zini Quote Link to post

gringo40 13
Hi Si Rossy has told me about AM custom gunsmiths. He reckons he's the nuts when it comes to air rifles. You'll be well pleased by the sounds of it. Have you used him before. I might have a trip up there myself, he's only about 20 miles from me. Cheers Carl Quote Link to post

zini 1,939
Yes Carl i have been to his place twice now already and bought a rifle from him. He can work wonders with PCPs mate. He showed me around his workshop. You should see his workshop mate He can build a full rifle from his workshop. He told me that the only thing he buys when making rifles is a Anshutz barrel. Hes well worth the trip there buddy. Si Quote Link to post
zini 1,939
Cheers Buster . Who needs a blue print when you have Adie sorting your rifle ? Im sure that the rifle will be every bit as good as what Mr B would do buddy and cheaper for what im getting done. Si Quote Link to post
zini 1,939
The rifle will look something like this one Joey, but Adi's new mark 2 silencer is shorter i think and will blend in better to my shroud than this JB silencer did in the photo . stevieskin 4
I have an original A&M Twink silencer, and very good it is too. I might take a pop over and have a look at the mark 2 version and see how it performs, only about 7 miles from me. Last time I went I nearly coughed up for a lightweight cylinder for the HW100, might not be able to resist a second time Quote Link to post
