one of my kits

There are many many deformitys in the animal word my friend. It doesnt really matter doesit, if it has a small tail, and the ferret its self will know no difference. stop worrying.. Its not as if you can do anything about it... just enjoy the moment when you became a father..

In fact it must be very very small for you to even notice at that age..

My last seasons kits were born deformed. out of 12, 3 died straight away, then i realized that they were deformed. they lived till they were 5 or 6 weeks, then slowly started to die. By deformed i mean, no use in the legs, backs twisted, feet crueled up etc... it got down to the last 4, i put 3 of them to sleep, and only one survived, with nothing wrong with it... its nature mate, a small tail is not a crisis...

Sometimes when a young jill is giving birth cleaning up afterbirth chewing threw umbilical cords the odd foot or tail will be mistakenly chewed off. P1

That is usually the case rather than deformity. I'm sure that's what's happened in this case.
