Black&Tans 0
Whether dog was eleven years old or not that video showed nothing at all to convince anyone. It just done what any other dog would do but in slow motion! Yes I made this video for myself & for manchester terrier breeders to what i was putting back into there dogs as they had lost it in there breeding, I know my bitch didn`t do anything that any well bred lurcher wont do, but you try and get a 100% manchester to do. not a chance, but they have a good look that i wanted in my line. I started my old bitch at 6 months with my old bedlingto ferreting rabbits, at 15 months she was lamping rabbits, at 2years + she was a single handed hare dog, no word of a lie. The best I had. We and went coursing alot at that time with the "Puckeridge Coursing Club" and The Fat Ladies Coursing Club ask them what my old dog was like. its not hard to put that black and tan look in your line, at-least you will know your dogs will end up in a good home 9 times out of 10. Just put a black and tan over a your best bitch then keep a nice looking pup back, put that back to a black & Tan lurcher manchester again and you will have a cracking litter pups and your line. Do you have the time, the first cross manchester lurchers are good for foxing by lamp. Thats it my last post, good by and be lucky. PS this photo was my 100% manchester, he went back to there club 2 years on and good riddens! Edited May 31, 2010 by Black&Tans Quote Link to post

Thats it my last post, good by and be lucky. PS this photo was my 100% manchester, he went back to there club 2 years on and good riddens! You could put a doberman over her for the same effect, probably no worse as workers and would be easier to find. Edited May 31, 2010 by tinytiger Quote Link to post

Ideation 8,216
what the hells your obsession with black and tan you bloody weirdo? SPOT ON! I think what hes saying is that he finds it easier to peddle black and tan colored lurchers to idiots who think they are pretty, those same people he sells to apparently consider scruffy lurchers or anything not 'black and tan' as being the hallmark of a 'traveller' and so unacceptable. He seems to have missed the fact that most folk breed for working ability not markings or colour. He is helping is understand how we can achieve something we never wanted to achieve. He is retarded. 1 Quote Link to post

david2363 42
Black & Tan 40 years ago, my old dad used to keep a couple of Manchesters, alongside the Bedlingtons. I recall them as being quite a nervy jumpy breed, not the greatest of hunters ( The Beddies and Russels used to hammer them on the rats and rabbits, and foxes were out of the question) and generally quarellsome and a bit of a pain in the arse. When breeding lurchers out of a Greyhound or Whippet dam , give me 5 good reasons why would you overlook a good Bedlington (and I mean the proper type, not the white show variety) in favour of a Manchester terrier? May I ask what quarry do you work your Manchesters on? Quote Link to post

Guest michael.hudson7
i wonder whether or not people said it was crazy when people started breeding greyhounds with terriers? It sounds mad but as most who have owned on they can be amazing animals so experimentation cant all be bad. Quote Link to post
