runforyourlife 361
none of mine seen anything until they were 12mnts or over...some dogs at 18mnts are still big pups...time and patience usually sorts it out...to many folk in a rush Yep, got to agree undisputed... A bullx we had didnt want to know till he was at least 12mths old, even while out with other working and bushing dogs. Now he is a very keen and responsive dog... Now billy the bullx stands a 28"plus was a very old pup, soft as hell and really didnt want to know. Came from real good stock, and while all his brothers and sisters were hard at it, he couldnt give a shit, and became one of the most laid back things you had ever seen at 16mths old. Now again, he has made a top dog for what he was bred for. Even now, he still doesnt seem to like day light hunting, its when it goes dark and his familiar scent comes out that he excells... You obviously hadnt look at my other posts before replying, if you had, you would have seen that my 2 conventional lurchers which i have on at the moment, are 22" and 23".......i am in to the average size lurcher like yourself charlie. not into over grown things... I was purely saying what i knew about the topic pal......hope tyhat explains to you bout the size issue... Quote Link to post

Because i talk about my passion, and once made a wrong wording on a post, which i held my hands up to! Everybody else understood when i explianed what i meant, and they just carried on, why be childish about it, i've never said a bad word to you, and if i did, i apoligize. Does what i said above sound wrong, if so i'd like to here...Or are you going to ruin another post mate... Charlie asked why i had put the size, so i gave him the reason, nothing more nothing less....not for an argument, its a forum, and people put thier imputs, wether it be the truth, a therory, a sumarise, or a personnal preference. Why dont you make an imput, instead of starting a row. Maybe if you looked at some of my topics and posts, you'd see that i can also be a dick and have a laugh as well, pal.. go take a look at my missus in the wet tshirt by clint, and if that doesnt cheers you up, well, i dont know mate....pages 4, 5, 7... You did though.... totally deflated my balloon(might use the tactic in future tussles) Anyhow, this talk about lurchers not chasing things etc, is a strange one. It takes ruining a dog to a whole new level lol. I know some bad trainers in my time but even their dogs managed to put up a chase. Its ok saying instinct will kick in and they will do it naturally but if they have had a bad experience when they were a pup, they ain't gonna want to do it. A dogs instinct is to bark but we can stop them from doing it by buying collars to hurt them when they do it and eventually they wont want to do it. With reasoning you'd think the same thing could apply to chasing. They need retrained in my view...... I remember talking to a shephard years ago(not telling how many years ago lol) who said to me, you lurcher guys have it easy, every dog wants to chase including the collie. It's trying to train them not to chase is the hard part.... Quote Link to post
