The scariest hunting situation I have been in is when I accidently came between a large sow Black Bear and her cubs - She charged me from 25 yards and closed the distance quickly - I guess thats why i

Scothunter do you not think that it is better to have a diverse group of people on a forum if we all felt and thought the same the forum would soon shut cause there wouldn't be anything to talk about.

My brother sent me this link.... I don't know these hunters so I can't answer any questions...Just thought of how you blokes are always bragging about chasing fox and badgers into hole's in the ground... http://trophyroom.co...deo/lls8ViwJcT/

Clint I understand that you have a deep respect for all animals and your reasoning that all hunting is done to control pests and or problem animals..... That is not hunting that is pest control.... And with fox's and Badgers in the UK pest control is probably needed...

Well this hunt was in Colorado and if you or the other keyboard critics had bothered to read the text attached to the video it states that a rancher ( ranch is a really really big farm many thousand acres at least) had requested the houndsman and given the location of the last track and sign. Ranchers request lion hunters and hound's because the big bad kitty is eating their cattle. ( cattle are like really big sheep with long horns and mean not for petting or other extra caricular activities).... In Arizon we have 1 adult Mt Lion for each 2 square miles that = Ten's of thousands of lions. Colorado is similar....Plenty enough to hunt - not an endangered species....

Read the thread on my earlier post of this video it was discussed at length all opinions were voiced..... Suggested reading for the other keyboard critics on this thead....

I have hunted lion in just the way that it was done in this video, I was part of a Co Op and we had 30 to 50 hounds and I have a fair understanding of the sport... There is nothing wrong with this sport just as there is nothing wrong with Terrymen digging fox, Lurchers coarsing hares, or ferreting in a rabbit warren.... I no longer hunt lions in this manner I call them - it is a way diferrant way of hunting the same animal but I am not going to point a critical finger at hound hunters because I feel my way is more sporting..... A hunter is not obliged to justify his way of hunting or why he hunt's and kills any particular animal - He had a license and a tag/permit and hunting is legal here in the US....When hunters start bickering, pointing fingers and nanner nanner boo booing each other because of how they "feel" than they are not hunters and should move to the UK and do pest control....And if they find somthing they feel is disturbing about pest control then volunteers are needed at the RSPCA.... Clint which side of the fence do you stand? Are you a hunter or a friggin animal rights wacko?

I have no problems with killing a problem lion, if its got to go then so be it. But if i was they guys i would not be putting up a video showing the crappy shooting that i just watched. Now either that pea shooter of a gun wasn't up to the job or they just couldn't shoot for shit?

I don't speak against them ,but I wouldn,t take a shot until I knew where it was going ,they seemed a bit lackadaisical about just firing away without having a clear target to put a finisher into. I understand the ddifficulty with the terrain and that it is pest control rather than sport, each to there own.

If you read the write up they reckon it was only about 6 feet away. . . . and they missed. . . .

Maybe someone should buy them a shotgun . . . . or some glasses.

Lets be honest, how many people been against such a dangerous quarry in the UK?

We can't judge when we have never been in the same situation.
