dont take what people say to heart its just good advice at the end of the day the well being of you ferret is far more important then your inexperience why not wait till next season and go do some reading up on it or if you dont want to ask questions on the open forum you could always pm someone and ask most of the lads on here are all sound and are only willing to give advice ..
