Do i need to worm more often while feeding RAW?

Recommended Posts

Just wondering if i should be worming more often, i use Drontal and at present worm every 3 months but my youngest seems to always want food, she acts like she is always hungry, i feed her the same amount as my 2yr old lurcher and he is satisfied, they are both in good body condition.

As has been said at 9 months most puppies will eat way more than they would as an adult dog. I tend to feed on demand with puppies, i like them chunky and satisfied, there's no need to worry about weight issues until they are mature, IMO. Its rare that a puppy will get over weight easily due to their growth spurts. Unless you have a ridiculously gluttonous puppy i would let her eat until she is full. :victory:

With regard to worming, i do it every 3 months and mine get a 100% raw diet. If their diet contains a lot of rabbit at a particular period of time, then i may do it 2 monthly, as i don't freeze rabbits, they eat them straight from the field, whole and still warm.

Dont feed it on demand. It will beg forever. Have set times, morning, noon, eveening, surely tho at the age of the pup, this should have been done already..

worm the pup and your other dogs every 2 months if your worried. Once out working and if working a lot, worm them every month, they dont cost a lot. And some vets say it

is no good for a dog to be wormed so often... Ask a vet who knows working dogs, and they will tell you to worm as often as you think nessecary.. A box standard dog

should be wormed every 3 months, lurchers arent box standard and come across things a normal dog would never see in its life....
