TopDown 0
If I purchased an FAC Air rifle on my ticket and it has adjustable power: If I reduce the power to 12 ft/lb will it be OK for me to shoot on any land? Obviously when I have the power running at >12 ft/lb I will need to be on land deemed suitable etc etc. Many Thanks Quote Link to post
matt_hooks 188
The law says "capable of firing any projectile with a muzzle energy greater than 12 ftlb's" so I think legally the answer is no. Quote Link to post
nasher1 258
If its on your ticket as FAC air then its fac no matter how low you can turn it down atb nasher1 Quote Link to post
TopDown 0
Thanks gents. I did fear this was the case. Pretty much decided on sub 12 ft/lb now. Rapid 7 here I come. Quote Link to post
jamie g 17
well really you would be sticking to the law. but its still a fac rifle so prob wouldnt go down well if you did come across the police. dont be put off by it some people get there fac air on ticket open from the start. if you explain your case in the interview witht he flo you mite get it open. this will then let you shoot on any land you have permission over with out having to get the land past each time you get new permission Quote Link to post
TopDown 0
My ticket is closed. Was a land check that prompted this question. Quote Link to post
matt_hooks 188
Not entirely sure whether the same land restrictions apply to an FAC air rifle. Quote Link to post
TopDown 0
They do on my FAC. Quote Link to post
danebrewer10 6
They do on my FAC. huh that's too bad, my FEO wasn't too concerned about my use of my FAC air rifle on other land, ( also ghave a SGC and .17 HMR, and have been shooting sub 12 ft/lbs air rifles for quite a while), I would just be careful as you would with any other firearm, and be much more wary of shooting things out of trees.... Cheers DB Quote Link to post
byrney 2
They opened mine after about 10 months, but prior to that its FAC weather turned down or not. Quote Link to post
