poacher3161 1,766
IMHO i think its too daft to laugh at these high prices fore studs for a couple of hours work tops then all these high stud prices most are just around dogs for the money any way. i do apreciate your way of thinking ..but its like this .. if you want quality ,you need to pay for it ..otherwise do with out if you cant afford it its each to there own example if you want to use my dog as a stud ,,you know the score /pup /or price of a pup ..no negotiating your choice to use or not Thats not always the case paying for quality as some of the springers i have seen bred out high priced FTW studs have been no better than those bred out of a keepers dog for an £100 stud fee Quote Link to post
Edd_Wiltshire 9
Greed is rife in the breeding of any animals. Cant really moan about it, just dont line the greedy peoples pockets with your cash, simple! Quote Link to post
ian 1 36
the stud dog must be really rated for that price ,or they are just trying there luck .i wonder how many takers he has had Quote Link to post
karlsberg 319
will the lads who want the stud be giving pups away for nothing Quote Link to post

I could use a OFTW whos owned by a panel A judge for a ton, but on the other hand there is the unscrupulous commercial trialling breeders who will put £500 on a stud and let him sire anything which comes. makes my blood boil. boyo 1,398
imo its up to the owner of the stud what he wants to charge and if you think its to much go elswhere simple. a good guide is as a lot say price of pup. but its the owner of the dogs choice to charge what he likes. Quote Link to post
Irish Lurcher 1,013
Mad money if ya ask me, if the demand is there then the owner will of course get as much as he can for a cover, I think that 100 pound is the working mans price for a cover for any dog. And so what if the owner is charging more for the pups, remember its him who has to look after them and we all know that it costs money for that. Quote Link to post
jamie7344 250
if i ever get a dcent male dog thats well bred i might stud him out for free for all the idiots to bring shite to i'm sure he wont be called a shit producer when the pups from him aint worth a wank Quote Link to post
Bosun11 537
If it's the same Ad as I seen in the CMW a few weeks ago, then I have a same way bred dog to it, they are probably out the same litter. I'd like to think that if anyone is looking for that stuff and has a decent enough bitch, with the right reasons and best of intentions for creating the litter, they could have the line for free. cocker 2,654
i would charge the price of a pup, or if it was a top quality bitch i would want a pup. Quote Link to post
leethomas 3
owner choice IMO you should have to pay for quality if you are going to the effort of rearing a litter i would rather pay £500 for a quality sire than nothing for guess work just my opinion of course Quote Link to post
Big bald beautiful 1,231
If the bitches owner is making money then why cant the studs owner. my whippet did a kc whippet bitch , £100 and your not telling me the pups will only fetch that. next time he is £150, if a mate wants his bitch doing well thats different. poacher3161 1,766
It must be me thats daft then a saluki/grey i had years ago i would just say give us a tenner and a few thats asked about a springer stud £60 and £30 to non springers thats why i will never have feck all yip poacher youll never have nowt, except peace a mind that ye never made money off yer dogs..... Bred about 12 litters of springers in 25 years and always sold them £100 cheaper than the norm as well as gifting a few to mates it gives me more of a buzz [bANNED TEXT] people have said how happy they are with them more than the amount of money i have made Quote Link to post
