Phantom 631
Hey Guy's and Doll's and even HELLO to the Morons and Banjo playing :wankerzo4: s out there Had another rotten day yesterday, so at tea time, I figured I needed a bit of stress relief so grabbed my gear and headed out to Pool Bank. As I arrived, I said a quick Hi to the landowner and quickly mande my way to her back paddock. As I got to the gate, I saw 4 bunnies take to their heals to the right, one directly in front of me and 3 gave me the Scutt to my left, this just left one over on the far left, just laid their looking relaxed, didn't even prick her lugs up for more than a few seconds. The three younger geese took immediate offence to me being there and two hit the water, the other just stood giving me the Hisssss and sticking it neck out towards me. I looked at it and told it, to "move or your going in my oven at christmas" Needles to say the bad ass mother goose did not take heed and I had to carefully make my way past her without getting my nads pecked. Got over to my usual sniping point and placed my gear on the deck, the third goose, had joined the other two who were now outside the paddock, so I grabbeb my chance, ran over and closed the gate. Walked over to the bunny, who was still laid in the same place wondering if she could see, hear or smell me? Got to about 5 yards and clapped my hands and Bugs legged it through the hole in the fence. I was beggining to think he was going to be my sitting duck shot for the day. Stuck my 30 yard marker twine in the ground and placed my Zero Target holder and back stop out, put a few rounds down range and all were hitting the spot This Scope seems to hold its zero well considdering the turrets are finger adjustable and can't be locked. My previous scope jused to go out of zero just by pulling the rifle from the slip. Retrieving the target I began to set up my snap ambush hide. The landowner had been busy trimming the trees so I used a couple of pieces of foliage to help blend in the DPM Poncho Hide. It wasn't long before my first target came out of the neighbouring land, problem was that it came through the fence at the side of me and almost bumped into my shoulder We were litterally eyeball to eyeball and I dare not move in case it did a 180 and vanished. The bunny sniffed and then turned 90 degrees and hopped out to about 10 yards, I moved sharply to the gun and it must of heard me on the poncho and it ran a further 10 yards before comming to a stop and turning to look back my way. It was near a hole in the fence and I had a feeling it was going to make its way through the hole so I placed the crosshair a little lower than zero point and squeezed of the round. Crack and the bunny was down back leg in the air. Where it fell: Head shot Exit wound: I could see it was an instant switch off, so I left it where it lay, in the hope of maybe getting one of the local nest robbers. Half hour later I could hear the cackling of a couple of these evil feckers so I put my head down and kept the gun trained on the corpse 20 yards out. A few minutes later, I felt the sting of formic acid burning into the back of my leg as an ant bit down on me. F K me that hurt! as I turned to scratch my leg, I lifted up and the two Magpies took the air, not to be seen again! I spent the next couple of hours, taking shots at the fluffy heads of the Dandelions that were growing up the embankment next to the road. The only other bunnies I saw were outside the boundary on the adjoining land. Phantom Quote Link to post

Were you in an area you couldnt shoot? Jack Hey Jack, I wasn't sure why it didn't leg it when I was so close, the others ran before I got through the gate. Thought it may have been blind or deaf or ill with something. I clapped my hands to see if it would run, which it did. Cheers guy's Phantom Quote Link to post

Great pics too mate, i have notced you like the graphic detail Thanks This one is quite tame really But I do encourage people to look at the anatomy, learn a lot and learn what damage you do to the quarry so you can learn what you can actually achieve with your shooting.
