Bi pod for AA prosport

Recommended Posts

hi mate

when i had my prosport i tried a bipod on it and it didnt work you could either zero it with the bipod but then you would always have to use the bipod when you shoot or zero without the bipod and never use the bipod to shoot it was one or the other so in the end i just used the bipod as a stand to keep the gun off the ground

Anyone suggest a type of bi pod suitable for my prosport? i asked at my local gun dealers and he said they werent suitable for springers as the bounce made them innacurate?

any solutions?

regards

Keith

hi ya buddy

try a shooting stick with the foam pipe warmer on it that works or a homemade bean bag buddy my lad uses one with his springer

little bean bag is the way to go but dont zero your rifle with it as it will mask any trigger pull but there is a product out there called the tack driver looks good but a bit heavy to lug around all day :victory:

Hi pal,

I have a Pro Sport pal and would never think of putting a pod on her mate

As Festa has said you are totally wasting your time mate unless you are solely going to use the rifle for static hunting where you are shooting off the pod all the time either from a bench or from the prone position.

You will find that the recoil goes down the pod causing it to jump.

When you zero the scope you compensate for the jump giving you a fine zero.

If you then use the rifle and shoot in normally where the recoil goes through the rifle and into your shoulder you will find that the POI is totally different and you will miss the target.

I’ve seen it happen myself in my old range with a Pro Sport mate and the bloke shooting it was and still is a top shot (for a Geordie that is :tongue2: ) and knows how to shoot so it wasn’t him mate.

My opinionis... not that it means much these days :whistling:

Or so the wife tells me anyway :wallbash:

Pods are best left of springers, An airgun Marksman can shoot a springer properly

That reminds me, I must get out again with my springer, before I become a 100 % PCP Pussy

I must be getting very fecking lazy  I aint even looked at my Beast for a while now :icon_redface:

I just don't get the sense of achievement shooting from the pod with a pcp as I do when I shoot a springer freehand

Yup, the lads are spot on, if a springer can't recoil in it's own happy way from shot to shot then you're pi**ing into the wind.

If they can't do what they want, when they want in their own way then you're shot's will be in one place for one situation (rested on a bi-pod) then they'll be in another when you're not shooting unsuported from something solid.

As has been said, shoot it off something soft and you'll be in with a good chance.

Cheers.
