Guest bodgerbear
Well its only taken me three weeks to get out with my new Kub, but it was definately worth the wait. Once I had locked down my permission it was time for me and my mate to get in the car (due to the location all the wildlife is used to vehicles but nothing comes out when on foot). Started off with half an hour zeroing some new pellets. I have tried superdomes, most of the bisley range and had very little succsess with any of them. I though I would try out some Accupells and I cannot belive the difference. At thirty five yards (Supported) had a group of about a £2 coin. ThinkI've finally found a pellet the rifle likes. Once this was done started to have a slow drive around the car parks. Both me and my mate both took a couple of young ones as they were mooching about. We'd left it a bit late for the pigeons who had all buggered off, and there were hardly any rabbits about. We parked up and watched as a magpie started to eat bits of left over food, all of a sudden a couple of his mates decided to join him. We were sat about 35yrds away so I decided to have a pop at him. Smack and he went straight down, a few flew off leaving one looking at his dead mate so 2nd shot by my mate and magpie two in the bag. No sooner was the second one dead his mate then flew back down to have a look and that was the 3rd magpie of the night. I think they finally realized that we were there as they all flew off and knowbody would come back down. So we carried on having a drive round when I spotted a rabbit at about 40 yards (I did pace it out so it is only a guestamate). Stopped the car, dropped the cross hairs just slightly over its head, relaxed and took the shot. Well bugger me it went down and stayed down (I meant to say this rifle is .177, I have always shot with a .22 and I think im finally getting the hang of it) Continued to drive round the estate and managed 9 rabbits and 3 magpies, which is good going in my book. I really am impressed with this rifle, I have yet to find a fault with it. I went for a walnut stock, thumbhole, side bolt version. It doesn't feel like your carrying a canon when walking with it, yet you know its there. It has been well finished with some simple designs. The filling adaptor port has a slideable collar on it preventing it from getting fouled up. At 200 psi I am getting 130 shots roughly which isn't too bad. I will keep updating how I get on with it, and hopefully do a better write up. I will add some pics when I can. Hope you enjoy Quote Link to post
