Any body from Northern Ireland be careful My Local paper did a story about a dead fox hanging in a tree the follow up head line reads

Badger Baiter Target Benburb

And reads

A conscerned Benburb Farmer Raised the alarm on how gangs of badger baiters are targeting wild animals in his area the report descripes the barbaric killing of a fox he has also noticed a disturbing rise in the cruel and illegal sport of badger baiting

the farmer who did not want to be named said every weekend several cars and vans with trailers loads of lurchers dogs arrive in the benburb area to carry out fox hunting and badger baiting

people behind the the sick blood sport come from lurgan . portadown and from as far away as Co Down

Armed with spades they dig out the foxes and let them go for the dogs to okill

men also drive around at night shooting anything that moves

if you were checking livstock in the fields at night he would be afraid for you

he went on to call for all farmers in the area to chase these thugs from there land He said that he keeps sheep and chickens and the fox does not give him much bother

According to the uspca the practice of badger baiting is illegal and that anyone notices suspicioous behaviour it should be reported to the police

BE CAREFUL OUT THERE

What's your local paper mate? I work up around the Moy and have spoke to 1 or 2 farmers and they said I could tear away. If the farmer wishes to remain annonymous I'd say he's not a land owner but more of a tennant and probably has a grudge against someone who is digging. If there was any real evidence of badger digging in this area you could be rest assured Stephen Shitpot would have it all over the news. IMO. Of course. Still we should all stay extra vigilant. we don't want to give the authorities any ammunition to throw at us. Thanks for the info. ;)

Eamon the paper is the Tyrone times out on fridays .

I do not think its a farmer either but some one from the animal rights looking to blow this up and get it on the news and make people think that anyone going over a field with dog or spade is commiting a crime and then call the cops . the story in the paper sounds to well put together and the use of the words barbaric ,cruel ,discusting is used alot . dont know many farmers round hear that talk like that

My bet is that no farmer said any such thing, we had a thing a couple of years back when an anti-fishing group sent letters to the letters page of all local papers saying that they had seen bird tangled up in line ect...

They claimed to be a local resident, and made up a false name and address to make them look as much.....the hole thing was nothing but a pack of lies........

They got found out when it was discovered that papers from totally different areas had all got the same letters.........

Maybe a few of us should start doing some writing of our own??........
