pest hunter 151 15
Hi lads I treated my self to a new gun on thursday(TX200hc in .177). I saw her on the gun rack at my local gun shop and just had to have her I got her home and zeroed at 25 yard (thats as far as my garden go's Any way i thought i would take her for a test shoot at the farm. I got there at 7am, walked in to the field and sat in the tree line. It was only a 5 min wait befor a pigeon landed about 35 yard away in the grass and started to eat. I could not get a clear shot on the head so i clicked with my tongue and it sat up. I squeezed the very light trigger and WHACK!!! strait through the brain. The fat woody just lay down and spred its wings, one in the bag I then went for a walk arround the grounds and found a sqeezer eating out the chicken feeder at 40 yard. After checking there were no chickens arround to hert i put the cross hairs just hovering above its head and sqeezed off the shot. And that was two for the freezer, so i called it a day. Thanks PH1 Edited May 23, 2010 by pest hunter 151 Quote Link to post

zini 1,939
Lovely looking rifle that Pest I can see that more and more people are starting to turn to the springer side of the force . It wont be long and i bet Davy, Festa and the other regs buy a little springer for a rainy day Great shooting pal. Si Quote Link to post
JackReid 35
Nice one mate, great first outting for a new gun! I think that your garden is perfect for zeroing by the sounds of it, most people recommend a 25 meter zero for a springer in .22 (my experienced gun smith does anyway) dont know about .177 but it seems to work ok for you!!! zini 1,939
I also zero at 25 metres with all my rifles. The reason you do it is that by zeroing with a .22 at 25 metres your pellet stays within a 1 inch kill zone area from 6.5 m to 28.5m if your rifle is around 11.5 FP and you are using a pellet between 14.3 and 16 grains. It means if you wobble a bit when taking the shot or estimate the range wrongly you will still hit the target unless you really wobble and miss completely.
