Just one of my many fleeting thoughts is the fact that we owe a great deal to the humble greyhound

breed,as a base for breeding the many lurcher and terrier combinations,it's just a shame they are overlooked once they have been 'used' by so many,

i think greyhounds are the MOST underated breed in the field today by far!!! i thought i knew about them till i owned one and soon realised i knew f**k all!!!

im the same mate,ive recently picked up an x track dog 18 mths old and ive been really impressed with it!!!

personally i am running one and i love having him around , very much a point and aim , die or die merchant but all the same he brings home what he is sent after and thats what counts , he did however pick up a bad toe which has had varying opinions from vets , ive now left it , he is still exercised at least an hour a day with plenty of free running and yells first run then totally fine , so im just working him through it and cant wait til season starts again to get out again with him , a good fun running dog , ideal for someone only able to get out as and when a couple times a week

i like working greys myself not everyones a world beater. but some make very handy workers

They are better than most folk give them credit for. Bring a pup on as you would a lurcher and they are just as good.

i've always liked greyhounds, when i helped out a small racing trainer in ireland, he concerntrated on 6 racing dogs, three pups a year and always retired and rehomed his own, very decent man, mind you he kept one or two too many retired ones!! there was one ex racer who stopped due to running the outside rail so therefore losing time who was amazing on hare, very good base for breeding and i think there should be more pures on the feild, i've always said one day but currently haven't the space!!

some of my pups i bred out of a pure grey to my old bitch 1\2 grey 3\8 bull 1\8 saluki so they more or less greyhounds to be honest i normally keep dogs with 3\8 1\2 bull in them and find them easy to start and train to at least average standards but upto now these pups have been hard work and ive been pulling my hair out with them there cumming up 11 mth old but starting to come on just slowly the greyhound was called farloe bond sired by top honcho anyone heard of these dogs any body thats used or has this blood any advice would be appreciated regards ryeuken
