i have never used one but would like to. its another means of exercise especially if the treadmill has a degree of incline. this would tighten up the dogs muscles and give them stamina.(summer training) walking + trotting + the occasional running + diet = an excellent conditioned animal.

i cant see the problem with using a treadmill for the extra exercise, but you still have to walk your dog.

You could use the treadmill everytime you clean out there pens, runs or kennels and set it to a 2-3degree incline.

the dogs definatly benifit, especially when coming back from an injury. helps to get them used to it as a pup, they run it better. not to be used as only exersize or to see how fast your dog can go :icon_eek:

A dog MUST be road walked regularly, but a mill is a fabulous addition to a man that has more than a few dogs.I had 2 on the go at one time,I owned 9 dogs back then and they were all road walked but also were on the mill when needed. All those who come up with ''A LAZY MANS TOOL''havent had a full time job or the pressures of making sure the dogs and family were kept at a happy balance. They are a great addition to the working dogmans kennel.
