busher 145
i have had some excellent bushing terriers that were as controlable as a lot of spaniels ive seen over the years. the problem with terriers is your limited to were you can hunt because of them going to ground thats the reason i would have to say and have got a spaniel. If you do go for a spaniel try and get yourself a small type am i reading this post proper''' or has ur spaniel turned into a border' lakey..?? Quote Link to post

romany52 313
I've trained plenty of lurchers, springers and a gsp, and I've had plenty of good terriers, but never tried to train one like a gun dog, but I don't doubt it could be done. I've just never seen one that's all. Plus it would take better than the average dog owner to do it . Edited May 21, 2010 by romany52 Quote Link to post

herdwick 52
I have 4 jack russells at the moment. Before them i used to run pure bred border terriers but the best bushing dogs i've seen were my working border collies. Had 5 over a 30 plus year period, all worked sheep and cattle and all got into places that were so tight that terriers had a job to get there. Would bush all day no matter what the conditions.
