zini 1,939
Well done FG If the farmer wants rid then you had no other choice pal . I don’t like shooting babies either buddy I would much sooner wait till there 3/4 grown and nice eating, but sometimes the job you are doing requires animals to be dispatched when there young babies As long as you did it as quickly and as humanely as possible buddy with a pellet through the kill zone that baby wouldn’t have felt a thing pal It’s the same when I used to shoot on the golf driving range in Larkhill. The golf course owner wanted all the rooks shot as they were causing a right mess of his green and had even set up home in his trees which were full of squawking babies and nests. I went and shot the branches on a dusk raid after the range was closed, but left the parents just in case they still had babies in their nests and out of my sight. I didn’t want babies dying of starvation due to having no parents to feed them. The green keeper was very happy with my thinking and left me too it. It’s not until you speak to a course owner of green keeper do you realise how much damage rabbits and rooks do and how expensive it is to keep the green a working green. Si Quote Link to post

jackinbox99 41
Stating the obvious, but have you tried diffrent times of the evening / night to go? Ive noticed on my way home from work, sometimes I pass a certain field at about 6.30pm and there are litterally hundreds of bunnys running around. Then yet another day, i pass at the same time and there is not a single rabbit to be seen. Im not sure what kind of logic rabbits use to go out or not, as it doesnt seem to matter what the weather is doing, or how cold / warm it is. Sometimes I see loads, other days I dont. Unless they were out and got spooked by something so ran back in their warrens? Quote Link to post
