Sweeney-Todd 208
Well.....Haaallooooo. Sat looking at the skies yesterday thinking shall I, shant I ? ........... so I did. Always carry a lightweight poncho with me, so if the heaven's open up, my rifle and me would have cover/shelter:thumbs: I know a lot of guy's when hunting, like to travel light, and only take a tin of pellets, a knife, and the Rifle full stop.....but a lightweight Poncho is worth the effort to take in the field, offers good shelter, shade, and consealment too. Got the "Cannon" and other kit ready and drove to another part of my permission. Had to abort a trip the other day, my back could not cope arrived there, and had to about turn after hobbling a 100yds. Drove up the lane and pulled in quietly next to a set of double five bar's. The fields inside the gates are planted with corn, and the dammage to the crop was quite visible. Climbed over the gate's ( Locked ) and loaded the cannon with a magazine of JSB Exacts. Started walking down the hedge row having a good look around. This trip ws more of a recce than a hunt. Started seeing some good signs of bug's, not excessive but they were there. At the bottom of the field, there is a bank with a couple of trees planted in it. Looked it over, and look's like a good spot to bait some corvid's. Caught some movement to my right while rested there, a young'un had popped out the other side of the bank, and into the field about 3yds, lazed him at 64 yds. Gently pulled back from the bank and crept towards the bunny, covered by the bank and scrub. Came to a nice clump of brush on top of the bank, and nestled between a gap, there was bunny, who had now moved out a good 5yds from the bank. Lazed at 36yds, I shouldered the Cannon and let the JSB go on its way, then, that satisfying crack as the pellet struck home, poor old bug's did not have a clue what hit him. The second bunny came from the top corner of the field, I was static, and wathching a small warren when out he came, was bang on zero at 30yds so a nice shot to take. Number two in the bag. Interesting bit of land, looking forward to doing more there, saw two Fox'es on the way around, but they were away off. The rain held off so that was a bonus too Cheer's me dear's Bill. 2 Quote Link to post

Very kind comment's buddy, thank you, glad you enjoy the post's. I like the sound of your HW100 John, is it .22 or .177? Looking forward to seeing the pictures too Roll on tomorrow a bet your itching to try her out and get her running and set up to your want's and need's. Good luck with her, they are stunning rifles, and a joy to own and shoot. The Scope on mine is a "Hawk Sidewinder 30 IR 8-32x56 SR12 Ret", she look's a bit big on the rifle now, because I have added the sun shade, but it defo helps with the glare, a worthwhile addition. I have had it a while now, and cant fault it. Well, I hope your new baby turn's up well dressed and behaves herself, keep us posted John. ATB. Bill. Quote Link to post

Phantom 631
Awsome read that Bill And as per usual a good couple of well placed shots I was thinking of Stealthy's short and sweet little Paragraph while I read the bit where you describe the 'Satisfying Crack'. There really is nothing better when out in the field than the sounds of nature Especially when they finish with a little "Click", followed buy a little "Phutt" and that oh so satisfying "CRACK" Slut point awarded for that lovely read Phantom Quote Link to post

Sweeney-Todd 208
nice shooting mate! bloody hell 32x is a big mag, double my highest mag lol! what do you usually keep it on as surely 32 is too zoomed in for hunting? Hi Aaron. Thanks mate Yes it is a monster scope isnt it I use it on 12x mate, this gives me the best sight marks for the pellet weight and muzzle velocity of the Cannon. The more mag can mean wobble exageration, but as I shoot off the Bipod mostly with the HW100, its not a problem. More Mag decreases your field of vision too, but I have no problems aquiring my targets. With the state of my eye's aaron, I need all the help I can get ATB. Bill. Quote Link to post
