J Darcy 5,871
Just thought i would try something differnt today so bought a big bag of mixers and made an artificial one out of a cork ball for the fly rod. Carp were feeding like crazy but they were also cautious as they knew the differnce between the real mixer and my bait, i presume that mine floated too high up inthe water. I could have trimmed it so that it sunk a little, but i was enjoying myself. Managed to get two good carp in twenty minnutes, the first being a fat 10b 2oz specimin and the secind being about 7lb. Great fight on the light fly gear... nice enjoyable fishing... Quote Link to post

neil cooney 10,416
I've always wanted to try that. Are some folks not tieing a dog biscuit imitation using deer hair and trimming it round in shapefor carp nowadays. Surely you'd tie that JD. Well done. Quote Link to post
