exactly, a few weeks atfer a dig you cant even notice my dogs been to ground, they heal up great lakelands

Unfortunatley the show fraternity have ruined this breed and finding good working lakelands is like hens teeth. They use to be very popular in Eire and i kept a few myself at a time. There are some good terriermen out there who keep the working type going and aren't worried about straight legs and perfect coats.

i personally wouldnt dare spend money on a lakie pup for work as all the ones i know off have got show shite bred into them, like the russells and borders its a fxxking minefield out there. imo crossbreds with absolutaly no show emphasis bred into them is the only way forward if your looking for workers from a working strain. yis wurzil.

Theres a good few lads still work a good type of lakeland, and knock about at shows through the summer.

Some go for the craic and others for the winning if thats what they want, but that dose,nt stop there working ability just because they look good. If its in them they will work however way they look.

I would agree that there is a percentage of folk that just like to show them, but that might not be as high as people think. So be it for them.
