JohnGalway 1,043
Maybe if you guys were to stand back, read between the lines about what i am saying! I am not going to spell it out. Ah bollocks, just forget that i said anything, carry on as you were... Your going to anyway. That photos of the traps and twisted accounts of this fantastic discussion will turn up on anti/other sites and be used to further the cause against trapping? That's my understanding of what you're saying. But, just as people here will talk about these things, others will find other ways to twist reality against people who value these conversations. Reason I find these threads so good is it's one way of passing on information to people who otherwise wouldn't know it. Comes a time when names start getting planted these things may well be forgotten altogether, aside from the few odd books laying around. Quote Link to post
John Keswick 119
it's one way of passing on information to people who otherwise wouldn't know it. In some cases this is a good thing... Like now! Quote Link to post
DUCKWING 302
.... SO THEN ........... NO MORE INTRESTING OLD TRAP THREADS ? DUCKWING Quote Link to post
John Keswick 119
FFS, its not a case of that Duckwing and you know it. How many modern fenn traps do you think have already been modified since this thread went up? There are plenty of youngens on here and others without a clue that are too keen to kill somefink without even thinking of the consequences. Surely its better, not to give them hints and tips on how to break the law AND be down right cruel at the same time. I am not saying dont talk about traps of yesteryear, but modifying todays traps to be illegal is, well, f*****g stupid! Quote Link to post

Squirrel_Basher 17,100
Back in the day when it was legal, it was a top way of flattenin any straggler corbies n maggies that didnt gan into the larsen or cages.... when a was a lad we aalways covered the trap t' make it blend in perfectly with its surroundings, in the hedge bottom or wherever. Before it was hidden, we would tap a banty egg onto the plate enough to make it sit level, then adjust it to a sensitive position. Worked a treat.... nowadays i use a .17 hmr I do believe larsens were invented long after this trapping method was outlawed. Quote Link to post
OldTrapCollector 377
Spring traps for birds were actually banned in 1904 ... although certain loopholes in the legislation meant that killing spring traps did not come under the same restrictions. I think they were banned outright with the rest of the old steel traps that did not receive Ministry approval in 1954 Still a good few years before the Danish keepers experimented with the early Larsen traps though ... danman 27
john your just ruining thread whos gives a f**k what the antis think these traps were banned a long time ago. so according to you we should not have threads on interesting old traps because you think the antis will use it against us, the trap is already banned so why would this matter.
