Well I voted shotgun because I use that more often, but I love sitting down th epen and splatting rats with the air rifle and there's nothing like shooting a fox at 150 metres under the lamp. I really enjoy both styles, just wish I could generate a steady income at it.

I didn't vote be cause I like both!, I like the shotgun for it's speed of action, fluidity, snap shooting, and general fun walking about, sneaking up on a smart squirrel, waiting for pigeons etc, but I also like the rifle for the accuracy, care in shot placement, stalking, trigger control it's all together a much different ball game

as I say I can't decide!, possibly going with the shotgun I think though

Cheers

well I voted shotgun, it seems people vote with what they are best at, which is understandable, but then I guess because you don't enjoy it as much, you don't to it so often, so you don't get better at it! aah a vicious cycle begins....

It's a Shotgun for me,

Its allot more versatile than a rifle and the recoil is grate fun :clapper:

You can use the shotgun on almost any vermin so its a great piece of kid to have especially if you are a farmer It does all the tasks. :hunter:

you like the recoil eh? well get youself an 8x68S ! I don't have one, but I do know someone who does, I haven't shot it, but it has some serious recoil!-

187gn @ 3200 ft/s for 4191 ft/lbs! (source: wikipedia)

have yopu tried the 50gm 3" Gamebore "mammoth Hi-bird"? THAT is recoil, cor blimey.... :tongue4:

Cheers

I'm not sure about the versatilit aspect, the rifle can shoot targets at much greater ranges, and given the right bullet and calibre you can shoot anything in this country, but I guess the shotgun is better for a farmer as it doesn't have a scope to get knocked out of allignment....
