ATB Rory What does 'old' mean? How many days are you 'guessing' like? I would try and voice your concerns to him without causing an argument. If you both have to be on the place at the same time then theres no point in being enemies! Quote Link to post

gnipper 6,426
It wouldn't survive 2 weeks without food and water, leave it alone. If it was yours you wouldn't be happy if someone messed with it would you. For all you know he could be replacing the food every day and doing the legal checks at least every 24 hours. hunter1995 92
Gnipper no having a go but do u see anywhere in the start of the topic that i was going to mess with it (NO)i was just wondering what to do Quote Link to post
neil cooney 10,416
I've 5 larsens on the go at the moment and I feed mince and dog food and only feed enough to last a day (even though I check them twice a day.). As a result I've had people ask me why is there no food in with the bird. Also if the drinker is large enough the call birds love to have a good wash and this will quickly empty the water. If your feeding whole rabbits etc. a rotten heap will soon build up in the trap and you'll know all about smell if you've ever to move a trap in your vehicle, yuk. Quote Link to post
John Keswick 119
To the original question: You do NOTHING! As has been pointed out, a call bird wont last long if it hasnt been provided with food and water on a regular basis. Certainly not 2 weeks. So just because when you happened to stumble across the trap there was no food in it, that doesnt mean to say that the bird hasnt been fed. Do you have food with you all day? I suspect the keeper as most keepers do, has enough trouble with people interfering with larson traps and tunnel traps etc If your that worried about the "Rook" which is actually a Carrion Crow, ask the keeper directly.
