Very interesting morning.

Recommended Posts

I was out for a morning stalk today with a regular client of mine. We saw some interesting things and took a few videos.

Then we stalked into a nice marshy area where I knew I had a big old buck working. There he was out sunning himself. A very nice trophy that should make a silver medal.

Some nice stuff there Mark.

We bounced a doe this morning who wouldn't run off, she stood 80m's away and watched us walk by then went back to where she had bounced from once we were past.

She looked full to me I wondered if she had just dropped a kid and was still carrying 1.

We passed quietly and left her to it.

Also this morning a distinct lack of does to usual they have gone ultra secretive.

Thanks guys,

It was a good morning and great to be out, esecially to see the young kid.

The first buck will hopefully be a good medal class buck one day.

The buck we shot was old and weighs in at 620g before drying.

FD,

I would have said the buck with the swept antlers was middle aged, we talked about taking him but after watching him for a while decided not to. He had reasonable looking main beams and coronets, it was just from the front tines up that he went wrong. He may well produce a reasonable head next year.

Cheers,

Mark.
