niffkin 1
HI all Has any one tried .22 CCI segment tip rimfire ammo ? If so do they reduce richochet ? Quote Link to post
liongeorge 7
I've tried them and they are much better as far as ricochets are concerned. Now the bad news: 1. They are difficult to chamber in my bolt action browning 2. The case somtimes sticks in the chamber and is a fiddle to remove. The above two might make them useles for a semi auto 3. They are not nearly as acurate as eleys in my rifle 4. They are more expensive 5. They seem alot louder than eleys sometimes going of with a right crack don't seem subsonic. Because of these problems I haven't shot any bunnies with them yet the noise is really off putting, other people say they kill very well and are accurate so I haven't given up on them yet. Have only shot 50 and have another 150 to go. None of my test shots ricocheted but when I shot a couple of eleyus to compare the noise one of them ricochet straight away. I really want them to work as one of the places I control rabbits is surrounded by houses. As a concept they're great and I hope one of the better manufacturers(eley winchester) take it on and get it right. Your best bet is to try a couple of boxes see how your rifle goes, post back about it I'd love to know how someone else has got on with them. George 1 Quote Link to post
