hi davy i have found a nice spot on my permision were thers a set thats huge :icon_eek: but i just cant get closer than 45m due to small rose garden in front of it

i would be shooting off a small hill (its an old sand bunker) giving me clearance over the flowers if i remember rightly you have a s410 .22 what pellet would you recomend

many thanks farmer

hi Kev

AA FIELD work well in my AAS410K .22 & AAS410K .177 TOO!

i work in yds Kev so you must be near 50+ YDS @ 45 meters, why cant you get amonst the rose garden ? to get ya shot off. you would not believe what i have crawled through to get my shot!

besides this whether its .177 or .22 this should play no part in it,if your hitting the spot with the pellets your using then just do ya calibration on ya holdover and believe me you will hit it spot on ,conditions depending though

you see alot of peeps go on about caliber? but as long as you know what your limits are you will hit it spot on all the time, unfortunately there is no quick route for this as its practice and more and more.i have seen posts on here with lads taking shots past 45m but they have done there home work, and its both Cal's too!

so my advise to you Kev is stay with the pellets your getting good groups with

get ya self a A4 sheet of paper circle a few pennies on it, staple it to a card or board and put it right on where ya sets are and take some shots! just to see if ya grouping is good at that range with that pellet! if not try lubing them (si has done a good vid on how to do it)

try again.if all fails then change ya brand of pellet

and that my friend is the only quick route you Will get

i go to various permissions and knowing your mildots is a great benefit,at different points of the permission i even jot them down

so good luck on your quest to your long range shooting,it can be done

hope this story! helps

What rifle you got Kev and what scope you use pal?

Does it have a normal mil dot system or something like a MAP or SR reticule in it?

Also what pellets do you use now Kev.

You still using the .22 calibre Bisley Magnums?

Do you have high mounts or medium mounts mate?

Im just trying to build a standard rifle profile for you mate to give you a starting block to use when going out and calibrating your own rifles hold over.

its a s410 in 22

i have medium mounts

with a richter optik scope 3-9x50aoemm

and yes am still using the old faithfull bisley magnums

many thanks farmer

Kev i think that you have high mounts mate as medium mounts only go up to 45mm objective lenses mate.

Your scope has a 50mm objective lense.

Here is a rifle profile that i have done for you buddy to give you a starting block to work from.

This is set up from a 24 metre zero which works best for your pellet weight mate on x 9 mag on the scope.

Kev let me know how you get on with the profile mate.

I just guessed the power of your rifle with the heavier magnums.

Hopefully the profile is somewhere near your actual holdover points.

I could give you a more accurate profile if i new your exact muzzle velocity with the pellets or your power in FP's.
